IABAT will be moving to new following rental location;

2130 Page Rd, Suite 101, Durham, NC 27703

To move all items from current IABAT location, we are requesting volunteers help on Wednesday October 3rd, 2018 starting at 5:00 PM. Please bring your vehicle, make a single trip and carry small items in your vehicle to new location. It will be helpful if you bring bigger size vehicles if you have one. For larger size items, we plan to use U-Haul inshallah.

Please note that all IABAT Programs starting Thursday October 4th will be in new location. Announcement for weekend program will be send separately with details on commemoration of Imam Ali Sajjad (AS); Molana Jaffer Banglori will be addressing the Majalis Aza on Thursday (10/4), Friday(10/5) and Saturday(10/6) in new location Inshallah.
Assalam o Alikum Dear Brothers and Sisters,

IABAT hope that you are all doing great with grace of Allah (SWT). Imam Reza (AS) said “No one could have seen my father’s smile when the month of Muharram came. Sadness was increasing in his face day by day till the tenth of Muharram and when the tenth day of Muharram could dawn, it would be a day of grief and weeping for him”.
Depending on Moon sighting, Moharram 1440 will likely to start on Tuesday, September 11, 2018. IABAT has secured a rental facility close to IABAT Center for all Majalis from Tuesday, September 11 through Saturday, September 22 EXCEPT Sunday, September 16, 2018 where Majlis will be held in IABAT Center. The rental facility name & address is below;

SEASONS AT TANDOOR Banquet Hall EVENTS & MORE
SUITE T & U
5410 NC-55, Durham, NC 27713

Since we will be in rental facility where other business will be around and frequent drive through roads, there are few things we would like all our community members to follow strictly;
1. We will start the program right after Maghreb SHARP as we need to finish on time every day. 2. For children’s safety, no children should be outside without any parents, guardian and/or adult supervision. Please keep them inside the hall. 3. Please refrain parking right in front of rental facility. Try to park little far so we don’t disturb customers of other businesses. 4. For sponsored families or others who want to sponsor, please bring “ONLY” pre-packaged food items. There will be no kitchen in this rental facility. If you want, please contact any board members to use IABAT Center kitchen to package your food item. 5. We need volunteers to provide security outside and cleaning the center before/after majlis. Sign-up sheet can be found here. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1E_2ABLnU-6r292Sfe6e7w769PSmQMXtHs-JAlG7GPbM/edit?usp=sharing 6. We humbly request all community members to refrain eating after Majlis food outside to avoid any trash/cleaning issues.

SPEAKERS BIO This year for Moharram 1440, IABAT is the honor to have Al Hajj Mustafa Masood Al-Najafi. Here is a brief bio of Hajj Mustafa;
Al-Hajj Mustafa Masood Al-Najafi is a Islamic speaker originally from the city of Najaf. He moved to the U.K after his family migrated from Iraq to England due to the oppression and tyranny they faced from Saddam's regime.
After moving to London, England he managed to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Science. He later was involved in the first exclusively English Shia Muslim channel "Ahlulbayt TV" and is part of the research and production team at the channel.
Al-Hajj Mustafa studied in the Islamic Hawza in London under the supervision of Sheikh Shomali and now he is enrolled in the Hawza in his hometown Najaf.
Tuesday will be first day of Muharram.
